A Lil' Frank Ocean Appreciation Post

As my last few posts haven't been Led Zeppelin or classic rock related, I figured I'd keep that theme going. I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the art Frank Ocean has created throughout his lifetime.

Frank Ocean first began his career as a ghostwriter for the hip hop group Odd Future. Besides writing for them, he also appeared on a few songs. Ocean's music has said to be the revitilization of R&B. His music is filled with electro-funk, pop-soul, and psychedellic roots. When Frank Ocean released his first studio album Channel Orange, it was considered one of the most acclaimed albums of 2012. In 2013, Ocean was nominated for Album of the Year at that year's Grammy Awards, and ended up winning Best Urban Contemporary Album instead. In addition to this, he also has a Brit award for best International Male Solo Artist. A little over four years later, Frank Ocean released his album Blonde, which debuted at number one in the US Billboard 200, and became certified platinum. Ocean was praised for changing up the typical R&B style, and experiemented once again with a psychedellic sound. Currently, no one truly knows if Frank Ocean will be returning to the music scene. After all, it's been 5 years since he has released an album. I will continue to manifest for all of us that he makes a come back! Frank, we miss you!!!
