A Tribute to Lana Del Rey
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Now while I'm thankful for many things like friends and family, I have to say I'm incredibly thankful for the music experience Lana Del Rey has given me over the years.
When I first discovered her, I was in 7th grade. Her album Born to Die completely changed the way I looked at music. I remember listening to that album on repeat when I first found her. Then came her album Ultraviolence. I vividly remember my mom asking me why I was listening to such sad music at that age, but she was just so poetic! I fell in love with her lyrics and melodies instantly.
Now that I'm older, it's much easier for me to understand the things that she was singing about. Her most recent album Blue Banisters was a complete game changer. Personally, I think this is her best album yet, and that's saying a lot! I have adored each and every one of her albums since I found her.
I truly think she has a beautiful mind and spirit. Lana's music has always been very inspiring to me, but more so in my college days. She has a song for every mood imaginable.
As always, if you haven't checked out Lana Del Rey, please do! She's a fantastic artist.
Hi Audrey, I also love Lana Del Rey! I remember listening to her first album Born to die on repeat in 7-8th grade as well and I was obsessed. Ultraviolence was iconic and I still listen to both those albums. I definitely have to listen to her most recent one soon. She was just different from anything else I listened to at the time and like you said it was very poetic. Great post!
